A SWEET COMEBACK: ENGLISH CLUB MELTS HEARTS WITH CONE-VERSATION CORNER

Politeknik Melaka, 5 November 2025 - Alhamdulillah, the Cone-versation Corner event went wonderfully! The booth drew laughter and excitement as students and PMK staff enjoyed chatting in English and were rewarded with delicious free ice cream. The activity successfully encouraged everyone to use English in a fun, relaxed way.
Many participants also joined the TikTok Photo Challenge, showing off their creativity with English captions and cheerful photos.

As the English Club Advisor, I’m overjoyed to see students using English confidently and joyfully again. This event marked a beautiful comeback, reawakening the club’s spirit that had been quiet for too long. Truly, it’s better late than never to start over.
Heartfelt appreciation goes to the General Studies Department, especially the English Language Unit, for their continuous encouragement, guidance, and support in making this programme a success. Your motivation truly inspired the English Club to reignite its spirit and creativity.
A huge thank you to our guest jury, Mr Adib Bin Abu Adam, Safety and Health Officer from Batu Pahat, for volunteering to evaluate the TikTok Photo Challenge entries via online.
Special thanks also to Puan Zawati Binti Zakaria and Mr Shahrul Reza Bin Mohd Zulkipli from the Entrepreneurship Unit for their kind collaboration and for welcoming the English Club’s participation as part of the Siswapreneurship Carnival. Their support made it possible to bring fun, language, and entrepreneurship together in one cheerful event.
The biggest shout-out goes to our ice cream vendor, Aiskrim Ceria Cinta, for their cheerful presence and support, attracting students and staff to the booth with sweet smiles and even sweeter cones!
Special thanks go to our English Club Angels, Nurul Imanina Haziqah Binti Azlani (DAT5A), Nur Hani Zahirah Binti Azman (DAT5A), and Nur Najeeha Binti Raimi (DAT3C) for their passion and creativity in bringing this idea to life. Their friendly approach encouraged participants to “speak English before eating ice cream!”
Appreciation also goes to our supportive helpers, Siti Nadia Binti Mohd Fadzel (DAT3B), Siti Khadijah Binti Hanafi (DAT3C), and Siti Syarah Khaleedah Binti Suhaimi (DAT3C), for setting up and dismantling the props and materials with dedication.
It was truly heartwarming to see how much everyone enjoyed speaking in English while having fun. Watching shy students become confident speakers, laughing and chatting freely, melted my heart and swept away all worries.
